About Me
Helena Kontoudakis was born in Bern in 1982 into a Greek-Swiss family that lived in Kavala (Greece) and emigrated to Switzerland in 1990. In 1998 she joined the Theater Mausefalle Solothurn, where she was an active member for 17 years. During this time, she also took part in other theater and film projects (her own and others'), as well as taking over the management of a youth theater course from 2010 to 2015 and completing an apprenticeship as a commercial clerk. In autumn 2012 she began studying directing, which she completed in November 2016. While she was still studying, in the summer of 2015, she moved to Berlin, where she premiered her piece "Love is..." at the Expedition Metropolis in Kreuzberg in 2016 as her diploma thesis. In 2017, among other things, she completed two directing internships at the Maxim Gorki Theater (with Nurkan Erpulat and Hakan Savas Mican). Since then she has appeared in many other theater, film and television projects or initiated them herself. For example, the production of her play: "STÜCK FLEISCH" was supported by the introductory funding of the Senate for Culture and Europe. and her research residency (in collaboration with the PATHOS Theater Munich) "BEYOND NAKED BEAUTY", as well as her current research "The Miseducation of Helena Kontoudakis - Finding a feminist HipHopera" funded by the Performing Arts Fund.
